Standard terms and conditions
All tasks are carried out in accordance with the General terms and conditions of the Nordic Association of Freight Forwarders (NSAB 2015). These terms and conditions limit the freight forwarders’ liability as a contracting party in compliance with section 3 B on loss, depreciation of or damage to the goods to SDR 8.33 per kg and for delays up to the amount of the freight, and for all other loss to SDR 100,000 in respect of each assignment (section 21). The freight forwarder’s liability for services mentioned in section 3 C is limited to SDR 50,000 in respect of each assignment, and totally in the event of any one occurrence SDR 500,000 (section 24). With storage, the liability for damage totally in the event of any one occurrence is limited to SDR 500,000 (section 25). Special attention is directed to the network clause (section 2), that the right of claim against the freight forwarder is lost after a period of one year (section 28), and that the right to retention and a lien on the goods (section 14) covers both present and previous claims.
Incoterms
Within international trade, a range of clauses, called Incoterms, are used that have been prepared by the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC). These describe buyers’ and sellers’ risks, liability and obligations in international trade. Incoterms 2010 replaces Incoterms 2000 and came into force on 1 January 2011.
Insurance

You should be aware that NTG Nielsen & Sørensen’s liability as a freight forwarder is limited and therefore may not always cover the full loss. A transport insurance policy should therefore be considered a necessary supplement, and it is therefore very important that you remember to take out separate transport insurance. In this way, your interests are safeguarded in the best possible way in the event of an emergency.
